We started the tour with this, which made me and duffgirl ask, "WTF, mate?" These 'shoes' were hanging from the ceiling. Yet, clearly, they are /bolted/ in. What purpose could these have served? This key-port switch somehow controls the roof access door. Note that the screws are exposed; you could take this apart easily. (From Exploring Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI))
