Some bizarre looking valve cover caps in the basement of Stewart Hall. Note that the valve has cracked from the bottle flange through the top of the pipe. Also note the asbestos wrapped pipes losing their peeling institutional green paint. And then finally notice the telephone breakout box to the far left. Hopefully there was not really an asbestos hazard here, and the owner or contractor put it up to deter people. In the next photo, note that the entire building is exposed to air besides a very small portion with this tape. If there was really an asbestos hazard, the operation was completely haphazard.
