The vortex of DOOM! The Hudson River is a mighty river when you're as far south as Rockland county. But in Tahawus, the Hudson could be confused for a stream. At one point, the entire river is diverted under a gravel road through two culvert pipes. This creates a slight bathtub effect, leading to the drain vortex that you're seeing!

Previous: Me jumping over the Hudson River. That's right, the mighty Hudson, when you're this far upstate, is nothing but a dribbling stream that runs through a culvert pipe not far from here.
